Having grown-up in northern New England’s Maine (known by some as “Southern Canada”) along the shores of expansive Moosehead Lake, an “Inland Sea”. I was blessed with nature all around me. Being especially fascinated with birds I learned amazing things about them. I watched them return every year to their breeding grounds and eventually learned of their migratory patterns. It seemed to me they had the best of both worlds! I’ve found out it’s true! As Life would have it, I’ve joined the migration and in the process became a Licensed Florida Real Estate agent!
We began frequenting the Southwest area of Florida, namely Cape Coral with visits to Pine Island, Matlacha, Coya Costa, Sanibel, Captiva, Estero and Fort Myers & the Beach in 2009. Excited about the opportunities, entertainment, services and friendliness of everyone we meet, along with the abundance of wildlife and perfect weather in which to enjoy life by boating, fishing, biking, sailing, kayaking, and exploring our migratory status was established and we invested in this wonderful community and lifestyle. There are cool places to be creative, consignment and antique shops to explore, golf, tennis, dancing, pet parks and spas! We even have our own “southern Hannaford”: Sweetbay grocery stores! Plus properties of all shapes, styles and locations!
We’ve learned a lot since we’ve been here, particularly in the local real estate market. We have access to professional industry information, and having recently completed more than 100 hours of current real estate continuing education, we are on board with the ins and outs of buying property here and have access to meaningful data.
Come back and visit, imagine life as a Florida-Snowbird or better yet, join our mailing list! We hope to provide useful and interesting information about this area that will inspire you to let us assist and guide you in your Southwest Florida real estate needs!
My team at Pelican’s Nest Realty Service offers full property management services, so you can rent in the area to test the waters before you buy or have us manage your property and tenants for you after you’ve invested! By the way, rental inventory is low in some highly desirable areas, especially South Cape! You may be ready to find a property that fulfills your migratory dreams or you might be making plans to take a break from the cold in the future, either way we’d love to hear from you!
